Drivers in Los Angeles spend an average of 119 hours a year stuck in traffic – almost five days. Using aerial TV footage of a huge LA tailback, a large, immovable obelisk like structure is constructed from the constant, unstopping stream of traffic as it grinds to a halt at the top of the structure.

Beneath the chatty subconscious lies a state of flow - a calm amongst the chaos. My mind is grounded by repetition, rhythm, patterns and frequencies. This flow state is solitary and fragile, existing beneath the layers of myself. It is a mirror of my environment, often navigating a line between order and disorder. It speaks to a desire to be alone but also the need to coexist. Sound design by 500 Mills.

“No es esto o lo otro. Hagamos lo que hagamos somos la misma cosa.
Todo pasa por el miedo; y el único miedo que conocemos es el que inventamos nosotros."
Vicente Luy
This piece started with the creation of a virtual space wich I reinterpreted with oil on canvas.
The final digital image was built combining different stages of the physical painting.

How many clowns do fit into a neural network? This 40 second video loop is the result of trying to compress artificially generated clowns into a tiny AI model that lacks the capacity to contain them all. As a result the orbit through the model's latent space results in a liquid hyper-colored plasma cloud.

Marjan’s critically acclaimed Digital Bodies have defined an original, influential, and unique aesthetic for Post Humanism in Digital Art. Through her iconic #GlitchGoddess series as viral internet hits, popular collected NFTs, gallery/museum exhibitions, and international public art commissions, she has created a contemporary style of figuration that is ever morphing, in flux, glitched, gestural, liminal, and informed by art and animation history, cinema, digital culture, and memes. For her Genesis Tezos piece, Marjan has extended her figural vocabulary to a male body in an infinite loop walk with what she calls a Mondrianish Glitch, exploring the juxtaposition of the rectangular with the organic forms in a #digitalbody.

This piece lies between the physicality of analog tech and the malleable, global nature of the digital realm.
It’s important to view in virtual reality because it began its life on analog hardware before being 3D scanned and enhanced with digital additions. As an installation, it’s meant to be experienced in physical space. VR, in this context, is used like augmented reality as a portable delivery mechanism for this installation.
SamJ created a digital fashion editorial from Amsterdam, and passed it on to Kate to display as vector graphics on a 1981 analog oscilloscope in her New York studio. Kate photographed the animation from the oscilloscope, and captured a 3D photogrammetry scan of the front of the oscilloscope for Sam to construct into a larger VR installation.

Is the seabed inert matter or the ocean's skin? The starfish can be considered the ebb and flow of soft and hard tissues in complex structures that are, in turn, part of larger seabed patterns. Entwined and utterly interwoven with the other species that blanket the ocean floor, they live, grow and regrow. Their regenerative capacities further blur the line between the soft and hard, living and inert, the ocean and the earth. What if to touch the ocean required us to become entangled between water and sediment, to be one of many intertwined? Screenreader-Unterstützung aktiviert.
